중앙대학교 2010-1 편입영어 출제경향

중앙대 편입영어는 제한시간 60분에 객관식 4지선다형으로 40문항이 출제되었고, <오전>, <오후>로 나누어 시행되었다. 문법의 경우 지난해와 마찬가지로 No error가 보기로 출제되어 정답을 고르는데 다소 혼동을 주었으며, 중·장문의 논리완성과 독해의 비중이 크기 때문에 논리적인 사고능력과 독해력을 갖추고 있어야 고득점을 기대할 수 있었다.

문법 Written Expression 4문항이 출제되었다. 지난해와 마찬가지로 보기에 No error가 포함되어 있고 일부 문제 정답이 No error이기도 해서 정답을 고르는데 다소 어려웠을 것이다. 출제된 유형으로는 many와 much의 구분, 부정 부사구(no sooner) 다음의 도치, 불완전한 문장을 이끄는 what, 수동태 불가 자동사 appear, 비교대상의 병치, 동명사 병치 등이었다.

어휘 동의어 6문항이 출제되었다. 출제된 어휘는 daunting, on the level, herring, flippant, finagler, out of sorts, turbid, bottle up, take that with a grain of salt, equanimity, bite one's tongue, unscrupulous 등이었다. 익숙지 않은 관용어와 숙어 문제를 포함하여 중·상 난이도의 고급 어휘들이 많이 출제되어 정답을 고르는데 어려움이 있었을 것이다.

논리완성 단문 유형 8문항, 중․장문 유형 5문항 총 13문항이 출제되었다. 작년에 비해 Two-blanks 유형의 문항 수가 감소하였지만, 지문의 길이가 길고 보기도 중․상급 의 어려운 어휘들로 구성되어 체감 난이도는 어려웠을 것이다. 어휘의 의미 파악을 기본으로 논리적 사고능력과 내용파악 능력이 필요하였다.

독해 10지문 총 17문항이 출제되었다. 문제의 유형으로는 빈칸완성, 주제, 제목, 추론, 논지의 흐름상 적합하지 않은 것 찾기, 문맥상 동의어 찾기, 내용일치, 내용파악, 문장의 적절한 위치 찾기, 단락의 논리적 배열 등이었다. 지문의 내용으로는 일란성 쌍둥이의 유사성, 동물의 몸의 구조와 기능의 상관관계, 남아프리카 공화국에서 영어의 위치, 샤를마뉴 대제에 대한 역사적 기록의 부족, 멸종위기에 처한 개구리, Coleridge and Wordsworth의 시의 차이, 밀레의 이삭 줍는 사람들, 매스 미디어가 대중의 생각에 미치는 영향, 체중을 줄이기 위한 식습관 변화의 중요성, 마크 트웨인, 코끼리의 기억 능력, 스코트와 스티븐슨의 대조, ‘habitus(습관)’의 특성 등이었다.
